Smart Cities

Project Description

In 2018, Salesforce had developed an IoT solution that was gaining interest from public sector customers. My team was tasked with identifying a value proposition and key use cases that could be packaged up to both private and public sector customers around the notion of smart cities.

My team included a strategist, researcher, and another designer. We conducted research with public sector leaders and citizens to understand what makes cities 'smart.' Reach uncovered an insight: we think of cities being made smarter by technology, but the focus is rarely on people. We created a set of concepts meant to showcase how Salesforce could support improving quality of life for the most important part of cities: people.

Our output was an internally-facing website that communicated our findings, concepts that resonated with our audience, and artifacts to help our public facing sales teams have better conversations with their customers.

Our work directly led to several high-profile public sector Salesforce implementations. As a result of this work, I was invited to a symposium on smart cities at the UN in 2019.
